WINTER CAMP 2022

Greetings to all of you fantastic Parents and Guardians!

With the last couple of months being a little more hectic than anticipated, this information is getting out to you way later than I had hoped. That being said, here is the official announcement for Winter Camp 2022!

WHEN: Friday, February 25 (1PM) to Sunday, the 27th (3PM)

In order to fight against traffic on Friday evening, we will be leaving a little earlier than usual. We will be departing from the Long Beach Alliance Church parking lot at 1PM on Friday afternoon. I understand that some of our students will be in school that day and there might be an issue with them being taken out of school early. If this is the case, please contact me as soon as you can so that we can try and work something out.

WHAT/WHERE: A wilderness weekend, free from electronic devices/screens at Idyllwild Pines Christian Camp and packed full of adventure, games, worship, impactful lessons, and opportunities to make some amazing memories.

Between meals and sessions, students will also be given plenty of free time where they will be able to experience almost all of the activities that Idyllwild has to offer:

  • Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Football
  • Hiking
  • Snack Bar & Gift Shop
  • Tetherball
  • Game Room (Pool Table, Air Hockey, Ladder Ball)
  • Patterson Patio (Ping Pong and Carpet Ball)
  • Frisbee Golf 18 Hole Course
  • GaGa Dodgeball Court
  • Stump Tug of War

There are also a couple free time activities that have a small fee attached:

  • Archery or Tomahawk Throw – $7.50 (minimum 10 campers)
  • Archery Tag – $10 (minimum 10 players)
  • Laser Tag – $10 (minimum 10 players)

If you would like to see some pictures of the camp, as well as some of the other things they offer, you can visit https://idyllwildpines.org.

HOW MUCH: $140

This cost will cover all lodging and meals while at camp, transportation, and a camp t-shirt (options will be available to pay extra to upgrade to a long-sleeve T or Hoodie). The only thing not covered, would be money for two fast-food meals (one on the way to camp and one on the way home), as well as money for your camper to take part in one of the paid activities, if they choose to.

We know that sometimes this can be a difficult time to pay for things like camp and our intention is definitely not to cause any undue financial stress. And we would never want this to be a reason a student misses out on a unique experience with God. If you know that your student would love to participate, but you are unsure of the financial commitment, please email me, Pastor Jesse (jesse@lbac.org), so that we can work something out.

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS:

TEMPERATURE CHECKS: Prior to arriving at Camp, each camper will be required to conduct a health screening (very similar to our Hume Lake process) to include a temperature check and they will be required each morning while we’re there. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 before we leave the church, will not be allowed to attend camp and if a camper happens to reach 100.4 while at camp, they will hangout in a separate quarantine area while transportation home will be coordinated.

MASKS: Every camper will be requested to bring a bandana or preferred facial covering to be used as desired or as required by local health authorities.

PHYSICAL DISTANCINGGuests and staff will be advised to practice physical distancing by standing at least six feet away from other people (who do not otherwise live with them), while standing in lines, or moving around the property. Dining tables, camp activities and other physical layouts will be arranged to allow for appropriate distancing as required.

HAND WASHING & SANITIZER:
Hand washing stations and/or sanitizer dispensers will be placed at key camp guest and employee entrances and contact areas including, but not limited to, the Dining Hall, meeting spaces, activities locations and the pool.

As far as basic information goes, I think we’ve just about covered it…and probably even a bit more. We love being able to provide these unique camp experiences all for the sake of helping your student grow deeper in their understanding and love for our Lord.

If you would like to sign your student up for camp you may do so by going to www.lbac.org/winter. And as an added convenience, we are now able to accept venmo as payment. Other payment options still include cash or check.

If you have any questions, as always, please contact me.

I am looking forward to all the great things God has in store for your students.

All of this for God’s glory,

Pastor Jesse
