Senior Pastor Chris Lankford chris@lbac.org

In July of 2004, after 18 years of serving in youth ministry, I joined the team here at Long Beach Alliance as the senior pastor. I am passionate about studying and teaching God's Word. I am excited about the transformation I have experienced in my life through a relationship with Jesus Christ. I love being part of a church which is equally as motivated to experience that same Jesus-centered transformation. I am in the midst of completing my M.Div. degree at Talbot School of Theology, specializing in evangelism and discipleship. I am married to Melinda, the absolute perfect match for me in this life. We have two marvelous girls, Jessalyn (5 years old) and Makayla (2 years old). I enjoy golfing, following the LA Dodgers and if I'm not with my family or at church, chances are you will find me drinking a vanilla latte at the local Starbucks.

I was born May 12, 1976 in Long Beach, CA. Raised in a Christian home, I have been attending LBAC pretty much since birth! Through many life experiences, I felt the Lord calling me to be a youth pastor early in my high school years. I have been working in youth ministry since '94 and received my first job as the Pastor of Student Ministries at Shorelife Church in '99. I graduated from Biola with a B.A. in Christian education in Dec. 2000 with an emphasis in youth ministries. I have been the Pastor to Students here at LBAC since Oct. '01. A little more info about me...My life verse is James 1:2-5 and my top 5 life experiences are: Accepting Christ as my Savior at a young age Marrying my best friend (Rochelle), Nov. 4, 2000 Experiencing the birth of my 1st child...Garrett (Sept. 18, 2004) Traveling to Israel for 3 weeks in '99 to tour and study Experiencing the Angels finally win the World Series in 2002!

I have been a worship leader at LBAC for the past 7 years. It's truly a "God-ride." Worship is our centering point. As believers we learn to fall in submission to "all of God." The way we live, then, becomes an act of worship to God. "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you wiill be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will." -- Romans 12:1-2

I was born and raised in Long Beach and have been attending Long Beach Alliance Church since 1996. I have been involved in the music ministry here at Long Beach Alliance Church since 1996. In addition to working in the church music ministry, I am a songwriter, composer, and producer. I graduated from UCLA in 2003 with a Bachelor's degree in Art History and have since been working as a music instructor to developmentally disabled adults for Therapeutic Arts Program here in Long Beach.

I was born and raised in Northern California and started piano lessons in first grade. I have enjoyed serving the Lord since 8th grade by playing piano and/or organ for choirs, soloists, and church services ever since. I spend the school year teaching reading to junior high students and spend the summers working with Vacation Bible School and a variety of hobbies and crafts. I have been a part of Long Beach Alliance Church for the past 9 years. "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." -- Psalm 46:10

I am a native of Lakewood having graduated from Lakewood High School. My Child Development AA degree and Nursery Education Certificate are from LBCC. My BA and course work on a MPA are from CSULB, as well as my CLAD Teaching Credential. The Lord led me to Him when I was in college and I served at that age by creating a Missionettes group at my former church. Since then, I have worked for the LBUSD but now publish "The Gleaner Zine" for artists. My experience includes Education Director for Family Bible Camp. I have also spent years as Sunday School Superintendent, Children's Church Director, VBS Director, Children's Education Director and on the church board. I am blessed with a gifted and incredible family: my husband John, who owns a RE Appraisal Business, Mercedes (attending LMU) and Jenny (Wilson High School.)

I was born and raised in Long Beach, CA, graduating from Jordan High School. Before entering school, my family lived in Rosamond where we attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church with Pastor Hedgepeth (that will go back a ways for some of you). I came to know the Lord while attending a Brethren church as a 4th grader and, as a teen, committed my life to the Lord. I served in the church office at First Southern Baptist Church of Long Beach for 14 years and worked in Children's Ministry for 20 years. I have attended Parkcrest Christian Church for 14 years now and I have been blessed to work in the office here at LBAC for 9 1/2 years. I have 2 grown children and the Lord has blessed my life with six grandchildren.
